Events & Fun
HBN organizes 3 fun events throughout the year. We find it very important for you to be able to join these events, so participation is free! This is a great way to get to know and stay in touch with other Au Pairs and with us.
This is the perfect opportunity for you to meet other Au Pairs and to get to know one another. Even if you already have made new friends our events are great fun. Every activity is also chosen as an extra opportunity to make you acquainted with Dutch culture and it gives us the opportunity to see all of you in an informal way. We asked your host family to cover these costs so you are always able to join these events.
Ice Skating Event
During the month of February we are going to show you how fun the Dutch tradition “Iceskating” is. Followed by a Genuine Pub Quiz with drinks, bitterballen and the famous Dutch “Erwtensoup” to enjoy!
Beach Event
During late June/ early July we will show how great our Dutch beaches are. An afternoon full of Yoga, Beach Volley and Surfing and of course accompanied by drinks and delicious food!
Boat Event
During September/October we will go on two amazing Dutch canal boats. We will have drinks, snack and music while touring through Amsterdam’s greatest spots. From the water at sunset, Amsterdam looks even more amazing !
HBN Ambassadors
Since our group of Au Pairs is growing and we still want to keep our level of care high we started the Ambassador’s Project. Around 6 to 8 HBN Au Pairs per year help us take care of you. How?
By organizing smaller outings, events (like a Museum Visit or Tulips tour); by sharing their experience; by giving advise and tips and by promoting their Au Pair experience to others in their own countries.
An ambassador is someone who is enthusiastic about our program and who wants to help other Au Pairs and HBN to make this year as fun as possible. Also you care and always have solutions and want to give others tips and tricks to improve their “job’ and develop themselves to the best version of themselves. You want to promote us and our program outside NL and love bringing people together.
Our current Ambassadors are: Asleigh (SA), Kyra,(SA) Imaan(SA), Candela (arg), Assanda(SA) and Nelly(SA)
